I’m Riya Dharmadhikari, currently a second year medical student and I’d like to run for the position of members coordinator for Teddy Bear Hospital 2025/26!

Coming into the society this year, I was inspired by the community-based ethos and the opportunity to be a part of something incredibly rewarding. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time volunteering with the society, and creating meaningful connections to make young children feel more comfortable talking about healthcare. I would like to be on the committee because as someone who worried a lot about the doctors when I was a child, positively reassuring other kids in an engaging way has become something I am enthusiastic about and would love to become more involved in. Leading a visit has also improved my confidence in being an important member of a team, and allowed me to develop my communication with other volunteers, as well as the teachers in the schools.

If I was on the committee, I would be dedicated to becoming a valuable member of the team and in being a friendly face to both committee and society members. Being a part of the society so far has taught me a lot and helped me develop my interest in community work, and I would love to help run it next year!
