Hi everyone!

I’m Hannah Bansal, and I’d love to be President of Teddy Bear Hospital.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of leading several visits as a committed and enthusiastic member of this society. Seeing the positive impact that Teddy Bear Hospital has on both children and volunteers is one of the many reasons I’d be truly honoured to take on this role.

Each visit has strengthened my connection to the society’s mission - ensuring that children feel comforted and confident despite the intimidating nature of healthcare. As a second-year medical student, I recognise how important it is to promote health awareness from an early age, especially in ways that are inclusive, accessible and engaging for children of all learning styles and backgrounds.

I promise to bring empathy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility to this role. The time that I spent in my local hospice and charity shop, where I helped to train other volunteers, taught me the value of compassion and clear communication in supporting others. I thrive in team settings and would love to help maintain the kind, encouraging environment that made me feel so welcome when I first joined this society.

If elected, I’d be excited to expand our outreach, enhance volunteer training, and introduce creative ideas to make our stations even more interactive. Above all, I’d be committed to supporting the rest of the committee to ensure that each visit is magical, meaningful, and well organised for both the children and the volunteers who make it all happen.

Teddy Bear Hospital has been a key highlight of my time at medical school so far, and it would be an honour to lead this society.
