Hi, I'm Thomas, a first year International History and Politics student and I am running to be your Treasurer of Horror Society. Why me? Well, I absolutely love horror. Every time a new Horror film comes out, I rush to see it as soon as possible. I plan on bringing that same energy to Horror Society. Plus, all those DVDs on my candidate poster, well I am happy to let them be used at any of the showings (I am not trying to bribe you I swear.)

But, as much as my bribery is convincing, ultimately you need something to vote for. Well as treasurer, I want to try fund new things for us to do as a society. For example, Hyde Park Picture House is an absolutely phenomenal cinema so it is a shame we haven't been able to use it together. I mean imagine watching the Shining or Alien on it. I will also try and push for weirder horror films at our weekly showings. What would I call weird? Well: Society, Mad God, Peter Jackson's Magnum Opus: Dead Alive and the masterpiece that is TROLL 2! Finally, I want to try new ways of picking films at Horror Society such as a wheel which everyone at Horror society can submit something for (verified by the committee just to check that we aren't hunting down lost media or renting incredibly expensive films.) This is something I particularly want to do so we have films that people are incredibly passionate about all across the society (unless it is Screamboat. I swear if someone picks Screamboat, I will open the Lament Configuration so I can experience something less painful.)

Lets talk qualifications now. Well, I passed my SATs Maths and I can use a calculator. On a serious note, I work as an auditor outside of University meaning I consistently need to follow a budget to ensure I am not paying out of pocket for something. As a result, this means I will be able to budget for the society too. I also have good numeracy skills and I LOVE MONEY! I also have an eye for detail especially with the numbers due to me being an IHP student. This degree requires me to be able to pick up on numbers and data as well as little facts to ensure I build a good argument for my essays. Rest assured, if I didn't pick up on these details, I would not be doing IHP at University. I'm like Dr Heiter from the Human Centipede but instead of being good with surgery, I'm good with money and details. Actually bad analogy, moving on...

I acknowledge I might not be the loudest at the society or the one that is always talking to people but I assure you I am incredibly passionate about this society and will work my hardest to ensure it is the best it can be.

So vote for me (or don't but...... think about all the films you'd miss out on)

After all, I've never seen a Thomas that dies in a horror film (just ones who are traumatised for life)
