Hi fellow Leeds Marrow members!

I am Oluwanifemi Agbede (second-year Biomedical Student from Nigeria) excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Vice President of Leeds Marrow Society. With a steadfast commitment to our cause and a vision for our society's growth, I am eager to contribute my skills and dedication to the role.
As Vice President, my primary focus will be on overall committee and society management. I am dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where each committee member can thrive in their roles. I will proactively support and guide each member to fulfil their responsibilities effectively, ensuring that we collectively reach our goals of donor recruitment and fundraising.
I participated in donor recruitment events at the University of Leeds and enjoyed the experience of recruiting potential donors from the public because it isn't every day that you can save lives! I also have experience assisting as the university's student ambassador during open days, I ensure that I show myself as a strong and conscientious representation of the university or any committee with which I am honoured to serve.
Furthermore, I understand the importance of maintaining strong ties with our parent charity, Anthony Nolan. As the bridge between our society and Anthony Nolan, I will ensure effective communication and collaboration to maximize our impact in the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders.
Lastly, I recognize the importance of being present at our events. As Vice President, I will make it a priority to attend most events, showing my support for our members and our cause firsthand.
In conclusion, I am passionate about the mission of Leeds Marrow Society and eager to serve as your Vice President. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancer and blood disorders. Thank you for considering me for this important role. I am a first-year medical student and have loved my time volunteering and being fundraising coordinator for Leeds Marrow. I have enjoyed organising and helping out at donor recruitment events alongside the fundraisers like the Fruity glitter stalls!
I have had leadership roles in the past as the Chemistry prefect in my secondary school where I both tutored younger year groups an organised a rota of other volunteer tutors my age to teach GCSE sciences. This also helped me develop organisational skills as well which are fundamental in being a great Vice-President as I will have to work with the committee to structure events which work around people’s busy university schedules.
I also appreciate all the hard work of the previous committee in making an award-winning society and aim to ensure that those high standards are met and hopefully surpassed. As Vice-president I would like to increase the connection and communication between the many volunteers and committee so to increase our network and possible stalls.
As a medical-student I further understand the importance of our charity’s mission and would be extremely grateful for your consideration.
