The future of LSR lies in your hands! Put your trust in me, Charles Philpott, to restore Daytime broadcasts to their pinnacle at Leeds Student Radio! With your support, I will be personally overseeing custom TOHs for all Daytime shows, compilations, outside broadcast collaborations and a reinvigoration of our presence on socials. Our Daytime team is deeply talented, and I want to provide every possible opportunity for our presenters, hosts and all colleagues at LSR to get the most from Daytime.

Hey everyone! I’m Kat, and I'm so excited to be going for the position of your Daytime Editor 2025/2026. I'm super passionate about all things LSR, ready to pull out all the stops in order to create our daytime shows run as smoothly as possible. Co-hosting Monday Breakfast and LGBTQ+ Hour have been utter highlights, being able to discuss issues that matter to me whilst making the most gorgeous friendships. Most recently at SRA con I learnt SO much about the industry, through chats with professionals, as well as feeling like LSR is somewhere I belong - something that is so key for a fairly new member of the society. As your Daytime editor I will make sure EVERYONE on daytime shows feel valued and supported both within society events and throughout their uni year.
My plans:
- Working closely with Head of Events to do more OBs - lets get out and about (Pride would be SO GOOD)
- Stronger visualisation on socials to increase engagement and spread awareness about upcoming events / dates i.e International Women's Day
- Increased support for new presenters with training and development
- Encouraging collaboration ! More socials between daytime shows, creating an active community to have fun together yay

Producing theatre shows (okay theatre kid) I've had a fair bit of scheduling and management experience that I think would be valuable for this role, as well as creativity to fill Daytime with fun fresh ideas.

Hi, I’m Sarah Al-Battat, host of ‘But Where Are You Really From,’ alongside other LSR shows such as ‘News Of The Week’ and ‘Hometime.’ It’s safe to say the studio has become a second home to me!

I’m not just running for Daytime Editor to fill a role, but also to bring care, consistency, and true collaboration to a part of LSR that needs rebuilding. I’ve hosted, produced, and lived what these shows are all about, and I know how much more they could become.
