Hi everyone,

I’m Maharth, and I’d like to be your next Treasurer for the Hindu Society. I am currently a first year economics and finance student, so I have got the academic knowledge and strong interest in financial management that I would like to use to ensure the society runs smoothly.

After being a member in my first year, I’ve really enjoyed getting involved in the sports teams, playing both Kho and Cricket. I have also attended different Hindu Society events which has helped me feel like part of a community and now I want to get more involved to try and help the society grow.

I understand this role is not only about financial management and I want to explore opportunities to improve the financial strength of the society whether that be through grants, sponsorships or fundraising.

Hey everyone, I'm Aditya, a first-year Accounting and Finance student at LUBS and I'd love to be your next treasurer.

When I moved to Leeds from Dubai, I wasn't sure how quickly I would fit in. HinduSoc changed that quickly. Playing football, attending events, and being part of the community helped me stay connected to my culture. It meant more to me than I expected. That's why I want to do more than just be a member this year.

I believe this role feels like a natural fit. I enjoy the finance aspect, and I've been involved in it for some time. I studied Accounting at A-Level, so I am comfortable with bookkeeping, tracking budgets, and keeping records. I am not trying to learn these skills on the job. Studying Accounting and Finance at LUBS has only strengthened my knowledge.

One of my goals is to ensure that the entire committee understands the finances, not just me sitting behind a spreadsheet.

Here's what I plan to do:

- Provide regular, simple financial updates so the committee stays informed.
- Review our budget versus actual spending after each event to improve over time.
- Gradually build a small reserve so one bad event won't disrupt everything.
- Actively pursue LUU grants, sponsorships, and local partnerships instead of just hoping for support.
- Ensure that members can see exactly where their money is going.

Hi everyone, i’m Kishan, and I am running for Treasurer of Hindu Society 2026/27

I joined Hindusoc this past year and really enjoyed being part of a society that brings people together through events, socials, and a strong sense of community. From being involved, I’ve seen how much effort goes into making the society run well behind the scenes, and I’d love the opportunity to contribute to that next year.

I’m running for Treasurer because I know how important it is for a society to manage its finances properly. Good budgeting and organisation help make events possible, support new ideas, and ensure the society can do as much as possible for its members.

As Treasurer, I’d focus on:
• Keeping finances clear, organised, and up to date
• Making sure the budget is used wisely
• Supporting the committee so events can run smoothly
• Ensuring spending is sensible and transparent

I’d love the chance to play a part in helping Hindusoc continue to grow and deliver a great experience for its members next year.

Hello! My name is Shathurei and I am currently a law student.
I’m someone who genuinely enjoys being organised and staying on top of things, especially when it comes to planning and finances. I have been doing book keeping and financial management through various business opportunities since I was 15. Over time, of doing book keeping I’ve developed strong attention to detail and a sense of responsibility, which I believe are essential qualities for a treasurer. I’m confident in managing budgets, keeping clear records, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Since joining Hindu Society, I’ve really appreciated the sense of community and the effort that goes into organising events for everyone. I want to contribute to that by ensuring we have the financial stability to keep hosting meaningful and enjoyable events. As treasurer, I would work closely with the committee to make sure we have access to the resources we need, whether that’s through careful budgeting, applying for university funding, or exploring sponsorship opportunities.
I understand how important it is to be transparent and reliable when managing money. I would keep detailed records of all transactions and make sure spending is well thought-out and aligned with the society’s goals.
I believe that the Hindu Society is more than just a group, it’s a supportive and welcoming space. I’d love the opportunity to give back by helping maintain and grow that environment through this position.
