I'd love to be part of the Art Soc committee! During my undergrad, I was the press and publicity officer for the University of York's Art Society, Arts Editor for the UoY broadsheet newspaper, and a writer for the Norman Rea Gallery's blog and 'Represent' magazine. I was also a Student Ambassador for Art Fund, and Communications Assistant for the York students' union, where I had to organise and run two university open days, with over 14,000 people scheduled to attend each day. More recently, I have started two roles in the UoL Library Galleries - within the Student Ambassador role particularly, I have helped to organise and host events, most recently Museums and Mocktails, which had over 100 guests. I am reliable, informed, experienced and enthusiastic, and I'm really looking forward to getting involved in the committee!

I'm Eliane (El for short). I've attended a few of your events in my so far short time here (I'm an exchange student, here until the end of june) and really loved it. I draw, paint, sew, knit and make short films when i can find the time. I have experience organising creative events involving relatively large groups : I organised a film screening event for a local art festival back home and i've organised quite a few video shoots for which i had to get all the necessary materials (lighting, sound equipment, camera, reflectors and so on) and venues. which is why i think i'm a great fit for this position. I also used to give 'art classes' to my friends in highschool where we for example tried pottery or a specific graphic style. for those i would do research and experiment myself with it beforehand so that i could guide them to the best of my ability.
I would love to join your board as you seem lke a nice and chill group in which i would fit right in :)

Hello !! My name is Maz, I am currently a first year studying fine art at this university. I am applying for the role as I believe I fit the description for candidates and that I would be a good addition to the committee team. As someone who is highly dedicated to art, both helping others and my own practice, I am confident that I would be able to fit both the required job hours and also to do more work for the team in my own time. I am autistic and my special interest is art, and therefore have acquired a lot of knowledge on the topic; I would really enjoy spreading this knowledge with new people. My goal out of applying and hopefully gaining the position is to meet interesting people and to gain new information about how running and helping out a society works, as well as helping others and giving more people the opportunity to love art in the way I do, along with other ways. I am organised, and highly interested in art, as well as being good at talking to people, a skill I have grown exponentially after doing 4 years of volunteering at an oxfam bookshop, which harnessed my people skills, as well as my organisation. One thing that’s really important to me is kindness, and I hope this reflects in my personality and expression to the world around me; I am highly committed to social causes, as well as just showing people the empathy and respect they deserve. As an art student, I know other students with expertise in things that I do not have, and I hope that if I achieve the position, I could bring them to help with workshops in areas such as making paints. I would really love to show others my passion for the artistic field, and art society as a whole.
