Hi! I’m Vriti, and I’m applying for the role of Professional Outreach Officer because I want to make our society more connected to the opportunities that actually matter.
I understand that outreach is more than just organising events it’s about building lasting relationships with industry professionals, companies, and academics.
I’m confident in reaching out, communicating professionally, and following through to make sure those connections turn into real opportunities for our members. If selected, I would focus on bringing in a range of speakers and collaborations that give genuine insight into different career paths, while also creating opportunities for mentorship, networking, and internships. I want to ensure that everything we organise is purposeful, relevant, and beneficial. I’m reliable, proactive, and willing to put in the effort behind the scenes whether that’s sending emails, coordinating with external partners, or working with the committee to make ideas happen.
Most importantly, I want to contribute to a society where members feel supported, connected, and inspired.

Hi, my name is Anika Sandwar, and I’m applying for the Professional Outreach Officer position because I want to help create more opportunities for members to connect with industry professionals, academics, companies, and professional bodies. I would bring a fresh perspective to the role, with new ideas for outreach events that are useful, engaging, and actually relevant to students.
I know reaching out to external speakers can sound intimidating, but I’m very happy to send emails, follow up professionally, and stay committed until my work is done.
I believe I should be selected because I’m reliable, organised, and confident when communicating with different people. Through my degree, I've practically mastered the art of problem-solving, working under pressure, stress management, and developed strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills, all of which would be extremely helpful for this role.
Furthermore, I would help the society build stronger links with companies, institutions, professionals, and academic speakers. I would work with the committee to organise useful talks, panels, workshops, and networking events that actually benefit members and give them insight into different career paths. I’d also try to bring in a variety of speakers so the events are not just helpful, but also interesting.
I would take this role seriously and represent the society in a positive and professional way.
