Hey everyone! I’m Rucha, a first-year Physics student who probably spends just as much time doom scrolling as solving equations. I’m also a big F1 fan! I love the physics behind it just as much as the marketing and media side, which is exactly why this role stood out to me. I’m running for Social Media Secretary because I want Women in Engineering’s online presence to feel just as exciting, supportive, and dynamic as the society itself.

I’m someone who genuinely enjoys creating content, from editing reels to designing posts. I already run a dance Instagram account, so I know what it takes to make content that people will actually stop and watch. I also love connecting with people, which means I’d focus on showcasing the skilled and intelligent members that make up our society, the events, and the moments that make this society what it is.

For me, this role isn’t just about posting photos after events. It’s about building a consistent and recognisable presence. I’d plan content in advance (yes with my colour-coded calendar), stay on top of trends to boost visibility and make sure our Instagram and LinkedIn feel active, polished, and inclusive.

Studying Physics has definitely shaped how I approach things as I’m used to working under pressure, figuring things out quickly, and staying organised even when everything feels chaotic. I’ll make sure things get done properly, fuelled by coffee, deadlines, and the slightly chaotic reality of STEM life.

I want our socials to be a space that celebrates women in engineering, highlights achievements, and makes people want to get involved. Expect a mix of creativity, consistency and some viral videos!

Hii everyone, I'm Keneisha, a first-year medical engineering student. I believe I am a great fit for this role because I love taking pictures and videos of events to make sure theres a memory of them and getting creative with contents. I used to do photography as my extra-curricular activity back in school and posting tiktoks in my free time. I’m confident in planning and scheduling content, and I understand the importance of tailoring posts to different platforms.

In this role, I would contribute by creating engaging, high-quality content that reflects the society’s identity and encourages participation. I’d capture key moments at events through photos and short videos, helping to showcase the community and attract new members. I’d also ensure our social media pages are regularly updated, visually appealing, and aligned with upcoming events and announcements. Alongside this, I’d work closely with the committee to design promotional materials that are clear, eye-catching, and effective.
