Hi, I’m Safia, a fourth-year medical student intercalating in Biomedical and Healthcare Ethics. My intercalation year has deepened my interest in psychiatry, particularly through my dissertation research. I’d love to help shape an exciting year for Leeds Psych and contribute to expanding the society.
With strong organisational and creative skills, I’m eager to bring fresh ideas to the table and ensure our events engage a wide, diverse audience. I’m keen to collaborate with other societies, charities and organisations to broaden our reach. I feel my experience at conferences and committee roles has strengthened my networking abilities equipping me to be a great Outreach officer!

Hello everyone, Kertu here. I'm an upcoming third-year medical student running for Outreach Officer.

My core strength lies in building connections. I'm naturally proactive and comfortable initiating contact – skills honed through seeking specialist insights, attending conferences, and also gained from a professional background requiring significant external liaison and engagement. I want to leverage this ability to expand Psyched’s reach. My interest in fostering collaboration was clear when I was recently elected Psychology Rep before the role restructuring, and I’m eager to apply that drive more broadly now.

As Outreach Officer, I envision forging stronger ties not just with Psychology, but with diverse societies within Medicine and relevant external groups like charities and professional bodies. This means organising engaging joint events, finding new voices to speak to our members, and ensuring Psyched’s fantastic work is visible and accessible – reflecting our values of kindness and inclusivity. I'm organised, reliable, and committed to representing Psyched professionally and positively.
