Having been on the Psyched committee for the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to help grow the society, work closely with the Royal College of Psychiatry, and organise events (such as the National Student Psychiatry Conference, Medfest/Film Club, and various wellbeing events) that work to promote psychiatry and mental health. It’s been an incredible experience, and I’d love the chance to take Psyched even further as president.

I've built strong relationships with lots of psychiatrists and mental health professionals that are keen to continue working with us. I aim to use this to give students the opportunity to further and earlier explore psychiatry as a career, through mentoring schemes, networking events or talks about the speciality. I also want to focus on collaboration this year, with students, professionals and other societies to highlight the role of psychiatry in every day life, as well as in other medical fields.

While career development and future pathways are important, I also want to prioritise the present—supporting students through the challenges of university and medical school by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive community, focussing on wellbeing events and practical ways to support student mental health.

I am dedicated and committed to promoting psychiatry and supporting student wellbeing, and I look forward to helping the society grow and making a positive impact together.
