Hi I’m Kate - I’m a 4th Year medic, who’s fallen in love with psychiatry, after the best placement rotation! I wish I’d discovered it sooner as a specialty, and want to be part of encouraging more people to consider it.

I was so impressed by Pscyhed’s performance at the Worsleys, which pushed me to wanting to join committee to continue the great work. I hope you’ll welcome me to the team!

Here’s why I’m right for the role:

- Intercalated in Business Masters - Comfortable handling finances, spreadsheets, and basic accounting.
- Treasurer for 2 years for GPSoc
- Treasurer for LAMMPS (medics musical theatre society) this year
- Strong budgeting skills – Successfully managed >£4000 budget for LAMMPS
- Helped generate net profit of approx £2000 for LAMMPS
- Confident sourcing gifts for speakers – Helped source desirable raffle prizes for LAMMPS fundraiser. Understand the importance of rewarding speakers for their time to maintain strong professional links with the society.
- Proactive when processing expense claims (I aim for within 48 hours)
- Experienced with liasing with MSRC for financing
- Familiar with grant application processes and eager to secure funding through the RCPsych grant
- Team player — ready to work closely with fundraising and sponsorship teams
- Committed to finding the financial support to put on meaningful, well-resourced events that enhance psychiatric education.

Having been on both the main and conference Psyched committee this past year, I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to continue to be on main committee!

I bring experience as a treasurer already from the NSPC 2025 where I managed the overall conference budget, running costs for the event and helped deliver and arrange additional funds to put on such as successful event!

I hope as treasurer to continue to support the society on delivering such fantastic events with amazing speakers as we've had this past year!

... who knows there may be plenty in the budget for pizza ;)
