Decision making and communication are the main aspects of the president’s role within the club. You provide the link between the coaches, players and the university union, as well as provide oversight on every aspect of the team. From organising team sheets to how much kit to purchase, the decisions you make will directly impact the club. This is the most unique role out there.
The role is very important and as such is very intense, with messages coming at you any hour of the day, flexibility and organization is key. There is a vast number of events and milestones that you must remember throughout the year and execute, and you won’t always get it right (for instance these elections are a little late). But though delegation and close working with your top 3, coaches and the wider committee the job will always get done.
There is no one way to run the club and no one way to be president, so I really would recommend applying if you feel you are up for the challenge.
