I would like to nominate myself for the role of Recruitment Secretary next year for the Gryphons. This last year was a mixture of emotions for us Gryphons, as we were able to make important strides in the division, reaching our first Prem playoffs and going strong to the semis. A lot of this was off the back of an already solidified returning cast mixed with an impressive intake of rookies, of which I was one of them.

I would like to give a proper shoutout to the previous Recruitment Sec, Matt Bellamy, for a job well done in the recruitment aspect and those first few rides to training, as they gave much-needed insight and trust in the brotherhood that is the Gryphons.

Now, going into the new season and losing a good number of final-year players the season before, recruitment will play a huge role in re-solidifying our roster and making another push for ultimate victory in the Prem. I hope to be given the opportunity to seek out members who would fit the positions and models needed for team success and who would ultimately have what it takes to be a Gryphon.

As a passionate member of the team, I aim to recruit fresh talent, ensuring we have the strongest possible roster for the upcoming season with our very own Leeds Gryphons Combine! My goal is to ensure we have depth in the right areas, creating a balanced and competitive squad. I’m confident that I can effectively attract and support new players, ensuring they feel welcomed, motivated, and eager to play. Having already spent much of the season encouraging friends to join the Gryphons, I feel I’m well-suited to this role and ready to hit the ground running.

I aim to make recruitment a smooth and engaging process, starting with a successful Freshers' Fair to create large demand for our Give It a Go sessions, leading to our largest intake of rookies ever.

Heading into my fourth year (and potentially final) year with the team, the most important thing for me is helping set the club up for the future. This starts with recruitment!

I had many doubts about joining the team heading into freshers but one chat with the lads at the sports fair that year settled all of that and this is my aim. I want to run a stall that makes people excited about American Football and takes the sport from being a rugby player’s afterthought and make it the main thought. It is an incredible thing to be a part of and more people need to know that.

In voting for me, you will be voting for a dedicated, long time member of the team who has seen multiple rounds of players come and go. This means I understand the importance of recruiting well!

The GIVE IT A GO is the second huge opportunity that I will be throwing everything at. I want it to be a true introduction into this sport and to encourage as many freshers to come back as possible.
