I believe I would be a great fit for the role of Gameday Sec due to my strong organisational skills, attention to detail and time management. I am confident in my ability to stay on top of the logistical aspects of game days, ensuring everything runs smoothly for both home and away fixtures.

One of my strengths is organisation and I believe this will be essential for getting everything arranged at the start of the season, streamlining the process for the months ahead. I am also keen to improve my communication skills and this role offers a great opportunity to develop those by working with referees, committee members and coaches.

Beyond the logistics, I am passionate about contributing to the team and this role provides a great way to do so. I would love the chance to step up and take on this responsibility, ensuring that each game day runs smoothly and efficiently. After spending most of last season as the ball boy, I’ve realized that while I am not the fastest receiver, I will be the fastest at getting the game-day logistics sorted. Stepping up as Game Day Secretary feels like a natural progression—I already know how crucial behind-the-scenes organization is, as I’ve mastered the fine art of making sure the chains aren’t tangled (most of the time), and getting told off by the refs for being ‘too into it’ on the opposition sideline.

On top of that, my experience as a basketball referee has given me confidence in dealing with officials, managing game-day logistics, and keeping everything running smoothly. Whether it’s liaising with refs, making sure medics are in place or bribing freshers to help out, I know how important it is to stay organized.

I’d be keen to get everything sorted early in the season—booking pitches, medics, and transport—so that we can avoid last-minute stress and make sure each game runs as smoothly as possible. Having the chain crew, ball boys, and rosters set up properly makes a massive difference, especially for the coaches, since it means they can focus on the game instead of stressing about where the chain crew are.
