As sponsorship secretary, you will reach out to businesses to convince them to become one of our partners. You will oversee contracts in which our club promotes their business in exchange for grants or member discounts at restaurants or shops. This requires admin skills such as spreadsheeting and handling contracts. I have learnt that patience is key as it may take many emails before anyone replies, but you get great satisfaction when a new sponsor is secured. You will also organise sponsorship for tournaments and events that we run, for example, collecting vouchers from Mr Tea’s who sponsored our Beginters Halloween tournument last year.
There are other ways to sponsor our club too; we are currently a brand ambassador for AWESOME Supplements, which I hope will become more popular next year. It's great if you can cook up creative ways to sponsor our club! The ultimate aim is to secure some financial support for the club and to incentivise more people to join :)
