Welfare & charity secretary is a very fulfilling role and teaches you a lot about collaboration with other societies as well as dealing with internal issues that require careful action.  
In this role you organise charity events within the society or with other societies in order to raise money for a good cause.  In the past we have done movember, sports swap with modern dance, handball, netball and many more.  I’ve learned a lot about organisation and promotion of events in this role and how to get people involved for a good cause.

The welfare side of things is an important aspect of the society as it is a first port of call for any issues that arise within the society.  I’ve found that it’s very important to be social and get to know people as it’s so much easier to talk about for people to talk about their struggles when they trust you.
