One of the biggest things that draws people to playing a new team sport is the benefits it has on mental health and well-being! Just playing with friends can massively help but I have first hand knowledge that sometimes a bit more help is needed. I would be happy to be a friendly face with good advice for someone who is struggling as I understand the support systems uni and medical teams can offer! I also have a baby cat that would happily help be welfare mascot and give lots of cuddles!

I think Welfare Secretary is a really important position, especially in a sport society.

Not to be cringe but teamwork makes the dreamwork and I think one of the things that makes this society so special is how lovely and caring everyone is. As Welfare Sec I would love to encourage this atmosphere and carry on our winning streak!

Having started university during the height of the pandemic I understand the importance of having someone you can reach out to in a society who can be there to support you.
Having health issues myself I have experience dealing with the university support services and could be a point of contact and form of support to those potentially seeking help.

I tend to be on campus most days and am always up for a coffee, or next year I am living literally a 10 minute walk from campus and my door will always be open.

I love this society and would really enjoy getting involved in the committee and hopefully keeping it as welcoming, warm and supportive as I found it.
