I’m running for Dermsoc President this year, as Dermatology is a field I'm really interested in, and would love to organise events, research opportunities, and community gatherings for us to connect and share our interest in dermatology!

Whether you're a first year, just exploring interests, or a 5th year with loads of experience under your belt- there will be something for everyone!

Hi, my name is Berny and I would love to be your DermSoc President this year! I am very interested in Dermatology, and this has definitely grown since doing clinical placements, working on my ESREP, which is Dermatology-focused, as well as recently completing my elective in Dermatology. I would be grateful for the opportunity to share this passion with you all as your President, and work with the rest of the team!

This past year I have been Vice President of the DermSoc society, where I have supported the President in leading the society and other committee members in their roles. As Vice President, I have chaired meetings, taken meeting minutes, helped with the organisation of the GIAG and mock OSCE as well as organising and assisting in running the Northern Diversity in Dermatology Conference in Liverpool, in collaboration with other universities.

I have experience in leadership, organisation, teamwork and assisting in planning and holding events through other positions I have held previously such as Vice President of the Dermatology society, Access to Medicine (A2M) Year 4 representative, BrainLeeds Year 2 and 3 representative and MSRC Sports Representative. These skills will definitely be applicable to this role!

I would love to share my interest and passion for Dermatology with you all through events I would be eager for us to organise as a society. A few ideas I have for this year consist of the society holding a Dermatology Conference in Leeds, hopefully another conference with DermSocs from other universities, a teaching series on different skin conditions, including different skin types. Mock OSCEs as we did last year is an event that I would definitely love to be done again as well as collaborations with other societies when the chance presents!

I would also welcome any ideas of events students would like to see from us!
