Hi everyone! I’m Keren, a second year medical student with a keen interest in dermatology, and I’m SO excited to run for Early Years Rep!!

I’m eager to support Dermsoc in growing and reaching its goals by making the society more accessible, visible, and engaging for first- and second-year students. Having missed out on many society events in my first year simply because I didn’t know about them, I believe visibility is key — especially when first years are already juggling so much new information.

My aims as Early Years Rep are to:
-  Increase early-year involvement in Dermsoc.
- Generate event ideas tailored to early year students, such as career-building workshops or even a mentor scheme with Leeds graduates.
- Work with the publicity team to create standout social media posts that not only promote upcoming events but also celebrate past successes.
- Share engaging and eye-catching messages in group chats so no one misses out.
- Be approachable and available to answer queries and support students.

By bridging the gap between early years and the committee, I’ll ensure every student feels included, informed, and excited about what Dermsoc has to offer.

Hi, my name is Angela and I am currently a second year medical student.

I would like to be nominated as the early years representative for dermatology society because I am eager to pursue a career in dermatology, therefore, I am excited to promote this speciality as the beginning of medical school offers the perfect chance to explore a wide range of specialities for guiding future career choices.

In line with the role, I would work closely with the publicity team and event coordinators to promote events and ensure they are accessible and appealing to the early-year students. I am comfortable being active in year group chats, answering queries, and helping everyone feel included. I am also keen to organise events, taking on your suggestions and turning them into exciting opportunities such as inviting guest speakers, organising conferences and running workshops.

As someone who has recently experienced the transition into medical school, I understand how valuable it is to have support at the beginning of university, I can be a friendly and approachable point of contact. I am always happy to make time for a chat — whether that’s to offer guidance, share experiences, or simply connect over a coffee at the local shops.

I would love to have the chance to represent you — together we can make the dermatology society a fun and supportive space for all of us.

Hi everyone!

My name is Manya and I am a 2nd year medical student with a keen interest in pursuing a career in Dermatology.

I have been quite lucky to experience some knowledge towards different dermatological conditions through GP/ hospital placements in Year 1. This early exposure has really highlighted how diverse and innovative dermatology is for me.

My goals for this year are:

1) To help organise a variety of both in person and online events/ guest speakers.
2) Act as a liaison between preclinical years and the committee to forward your ideas.
3) Help build a supportive network for students who wish to pursue Dermatology from 1st year.

As a preclinical rep, I would be approachable, proactive with queries and a reliable point of contact/ support.
