Hi, I’m Eva and I would absolutely love to be a part of Freestyle’s Committee 2026/27. Freestyle has been the highlight of my first year. From rehearsals to competition season, I have loved being part of a team that is so energetic, and genuinely supportive. I would love to become part of the Committee to be even more involved and to make my own contribution to this fantastic society. Dancing has always been a huge part of my life, and I would love the chance to give back to the society that has made me feel so welcome at university.
What I would bring to the Committee:
One of my favourite parts of sixth form was my role as House Captain. The role involved organising big events such as sports day and charity week, managing communication across teams and finding new, creative ways to improve the existing system. Working with others in this role strengthened my organisation, teamwork and communication – all skills that I would bring to the role of PR Sec.
I am also a very creative person (don’t worry, I have the GCSE art to prove it, lol). I really would enjoy designing new content, finding the best ways to promote our society, and involving everyone our posts. I am very good with Canva and would be excited to use this to create engaging posts – making sure to post regularly to keep everyone up to date and involved in our society. I would make sure to advertise our weekly classes effectively as I know how much hard work the choreographers put in, so it would be lovely if we could have as many people as possible show up.
What I’ve Loved About Freestyle:
The competition season has been the highlight of my first year. It was so nice to be part of a team and get to show this off on stage. I’d like to continue to create the same welcoming environment for next year’s members - especially freshers who might feel nervous about joining.
My Vision for 2026/27:
Here are some ideas I’d love to bring to the society:
• A fresher friendly pack with FAQs, key dates, who’s who on the Committee and contact details and what to expect in your first term. I would love to work with the role of Secretary to create and promote this as I think it would be super helpful to show those who are new to our society what to expect and how to get involved. I would definitely have found this useful as a first year.
• Maintain a consistent posting schedule so members always feel connected and informed.
• Meet the Committee posts to introduce our Committee members in a more informal way and increase the visibility of their roles and the hard work they put in.
• Continue spotlight features (e.g., “Freestyler of the Month”) to celebrate members and build community. I think it is lovely that we pick out people who have really given lots to the society and rehearsals and give them a shout out!
• Behind the scenes content (e.g. day in the life/competition diaries) during comp season to show the fun, not just the final performance. This would also show people who maybe want to be on a comp team what the preparation and scheduling is like.
My promises:
• To be organised, enthusiastic, and fully committed
• To communicate clearly and keep the society updated via social media
• To make Freestyle welcoming for every member, especially new ones
• To bring passion, creativity, and reliability to the role if I’m trusted with it

Hi, I’m Alison Anyinla Jimenez, and I’m running for PR Secretary because I want more people to see what our society is really about. Freestyle dance is fun, creative, and full of personality, and I want our socials and promotions to reflect that.
If I’m elected, I’ll make sure we post regularly and keep things fresh, with content that actually feels interesting and real, knowing I bring some excellent video and photo skills. I want people to see more than just events — I want them to see the energy, the vibes, and the people behind the society.
I’ll also help get more people involved by promoting our workshops, battles, and socials in a way that makes them exciting and welcoming. Whether someone is experienced or completely new, I want them to feel like they can join in and be part of it.
I’d also love to work on building up our presence with collabs, fun ideas, and a stronger social media identity, so more people know who we are and what we do.
Most of all, I want everyone in the society to feel represented and heard. PR should be about showing off what our community is really about, the heart of our community, the highs, the growth and everything in between, and that’s exactly what I’d aim to do.

Hey freestylers!! I’m Taylor and I would love to be your PR sec for next year. Joining freestyle during my first week in Leeds was the best decision ever. I have made so many amazing friends and made some incredible memories. Capturing all these memories and showcasing how fun freestyle truly is, is something I would love to get involved in.
Since the age of 4, dance has been a huge part of my life. I’ve always loved having a second place that feels like home. Before coming to uni, I took ISTD and RAD exams in ballet, tap, modern and contemporary up to intermediate level whilst also participating in many shows and competing across the UK. Through all of this, I have always been known as the person constantly taking photos and videos. I love capturing the special moments and being able to look back on them. I know how important it is to not only experience these moments, but to share them with others. As PR sec, I would love to help highlight everything that makes Freestyle so special, both to our members and to anyone thinking of joining.
Back at home, I was heavily involved in my dance schools instagram and providing the photos and videos that were displayed on their socials. I regularly filmed videos during rehearsals and performances to advertise the dance school. I was also involved in creating the show posters which will help as PR sec when leaflets for events like freshers fair and showcases will need to be made. These posters are crucial as they will help engage and attract even more talented people to join freestyle! I was very committed back at home to finding the best way to advertise my dance school in the most creative way and I would love to bring this into the role as PR sec.
If I was lucky enough to gain this position, I would make sure media socials are consistently active, with new and exciting content each week. I’d love to create more content on platforms like TikTok, creating “day in the life” videos and end of term recap videos. I also think weekly dumps on instagram would be a great way of showcasing what the society gets up to throughout the week, including content from classes and socials. Alongside this, introducing committee takeovers would be a fun and engaging way of showing members personalities of the people within committee and give them a closer look into what goes on behind the scenes.
I’d love the chance to capture all the fun, chaos and unforgettable moments that make Freestyle what it is. I can’t wait for another amazing year with freestyle and I’m so excited to have been given the opportunity to be a candidate as your PR sec for next year!!!
