Hello everyone!! I am so excited to be going for the first kit rep for freestyle. My name is Izzy Lowe and i am going into my 3rd year of studying politics and philosophy. I have been on Jazz and commercial in first year and was on hip hop this year. I would love to be part of committee next, this society has been an absolute joy to be a part of. Everyone is so kind and supportive and I would love the oppotunity to do the same. I can say with certainty that i would be great at this role, I remember being in first year and seeing the competition hoodies and thinking that had to get on the team purely for the merch is nothing else😂.

Why vote for me?

- I will take the role with so much pride and would not let anyone down
- I want to focus on affordability alongside the quality of costumes and now there is a designated role i would take so much care and time to ensure the best for all members
- I will be living in an all dance house next year (all prospective members of committee as well) which makes communication so easy
- Got voted best Oompa Loompa (I’ve peaked)
- I want to be a welcoming presence for everyone whether it be for returners or freshers to make people feel just as welcomed as i did when i first joined!
- I do not take myself seriously at all

Hey freestylersss, I’m Bella — your former 24-25 Social Sec alongside Pops, freshly back from ski season chaos, and your hopeful Costume/Kit Secretary

I just want to start by saying how much I genuinely ADORE this society. Freestyle fully transformed my uni experience, and my first two years I 100% prioritised dance over my actual degree Ooops (my bank account and Eleanor can confirm), because I never wanted to miss a second. Being away reminded me how much it means to me - genuinely my biggest heartbreak leaving it But now I’m SO excited to come back and do it ALL OVER AGAIN. I can’t wait to meet the freshers I missed, all the new ones joining, and throw myself straight back into everything that makes Freestyle what it is.

For those who don’t know me, before uni I was an elite rhythmic gymnast who competed with team GB, which means I’ve spent most of my life being judged not just on how I perform, but how I present myself doing it - hair, makeup, costumes, the full package. It's given me really good insight into what judging panels look for and how to snatch that best costume award at comps ;). In my first and second years at uni, I’ve been part of multiple Freestyle competition teams (Contemporary, lyrical, Wildcard) and was last year’s soloist, bringing home 4 trophies! Through this, I’ve gained experience across a range of styles and costume choices. That’s why Costume Sec feels like the perfect fit 3.

Why Costume sec?
Because I truly believe what we wear can MAKE a performance. The right costume doesn’t just look good - it builds your confidence, helps to bring a concept to life, and makes everyone feel like part of something. And let’s be honest… we all perform better when we feel like absolute icons (not that we’re not anyways).

What I’d bring to the role:
Organisation - make sure all costumes are ordered ON TIME so we have adequate time to dance in them and make sure the sizing is correct (I’ve matured since Social Sec days… slightly. Still in Chief every Wednesday tho ).
- I’d also ensure that any dances that require props would be ordered at the very start of the competition season to ensure all dancers have time to rehearse with them.
Attention to detail - from fit and comfort to the overall look (can’t ignore an iconic red lip and slick back either)
Inclusivity - making sure everyone feels confident and their best self
Creativity - giving each dance its own unique vibe while keeping that Freestyle standard.
Quality - think we all love Shein, but let’s be real, freestyle can do better xxx And making sure this quality of costumes is consistent across all styles of dance and fairly distributing costs.

But more than anything, I just LOVE working with all of you so if you want someone who will:
Hype you up relentlessly and make you feel like your full self on stage
Be ridiculously passionate about getting the best costumes award (slight perfectionist)
And make sure we SERVE looks at every possible opportunity
Then I’m your girl.
