Irish dancing has always been a massive part of my life, and I’ve loved being able to continue dancing at university over the past two years. This year, being on committee has given me valuable insight into how the society runs, and it’s made me even more eager to take on a larger role in shaping its future.

I’ve been very lucky this year to teach both intermediate and beginner dancers while also dancing in advanced. This has allowed me to connect with members across all levels of the society, and I’ve really valued getting to know such a wide range of people. Through this, I’ve developed a strong understanding of what members want from the society whether that’s improving their dancing, building confidence, or simply enjoying a welcoming and supportive environment.

As president, I would love to build on these relationships and continue fostering the inclusive, friendly atmosphere that makes our society so special. I’m particularly passionate about ensuring that new freshers feel comfortable and excited to get involved, while also supporting returning members to progress and stay engaged.

I believe I am fully capable for this role and would work closely with the committee to ensure the society continues to thrive. Most importantly, I care deeply about this society and the people in it, and I would be proud to represent and lead it as president.
