Hey guys - this year I’ve had the honour of being women’s captain but it’s about time to pass over the reigns..

As part of committee and an active player on the team, I’m involved in the society both on and off the court and being captain means that I’ve mastered organising line-ups, responding to emails, chasing people for things, and generally keeping everything on track — which feels like perfect training for being Secretary. I’m organised, responsive, and very good at answering messages/admin (unlike our trusty old BUCS Coordinator).

Not only this but working part time at David Lloyd gives me the opportunity to liaise with them regarding court space and other important matters which would help build our relationship with them for future years!

Hi everyone, my name is Max and I am currently the men's captain. I am running for secretary this year and would be very grateful for your vote and support. I have spent two years in the first team and have been very involved in the workings of the performance aspect of the society, gaining knowledge that I think will translate well to a role on the executive committee. I will be quick to respond to any queries or problems you may have through dms and emails and will work closely with the president and vice president to resolve any issues as swiftly and efficiently as possible. The tennis society here in Leeds is in a great place at the moment, with growing members each year and increasing quality in socials, performance and playing opportunities. I promise as secretary to be a part of decision making processes that push tennis forward even more, creating even more opportunities and enjoyment for everyone involved. Been dossing about in the Netherlands for the past year but am keen to get stuck back in to tennis society, ideally as your new secretary.
Having been kit secretary in second year and heavily involved in the society since the start of my time at Leeds, I have got a strong understanding of how the society operates day to day. I have seen what works well, what could be smoother and where a bit more communication can make everyone's lives a whole lot easier.
I am aware of the responsibility that comes with being secretary; ensuring information is communicated clearly, helping organise meetings and events and supporting all members of the society with any problems they may have. And I am confident I can do this dependably.
Tennis is already and will always be massive, and I am sure that next year it will only go upwards. I would love to be a part of it and help keep things running well behind the scenes.

Hi, I’m Jai and I’m running to be your secretary next year!

This year has been brilliant for tennis, and I’ve loved being your current social media sec and getting involved with committee. I’ve helped us build a relationship with OddBalls, as well as helped organise our Committee Sliming for Movember. I’ve been part of tennis since I joined Uni and being exec in my final year really would be amazing. My degree in journalism lends itself to the role of secretary, and my work this year as social media sec has shown that I really am someone you can rely on to deal with all the admin that comes with helping run a society that’s so #massive.

Boring performative chat aside, I’ve also been seriously involved with socials just as much this year as when I was a keen young fresh #legend #howareyousocool. Many of you have probably been to my house for a social at some point this year, and it’s been so great to see so many of you enjoy tennis as much as I have - even if it did lead to some sobering Thursday morning cleans.
