Hi my name is Louis and I’m applying for this role in the 26/27 season because if there’s one thing I’m consistently good at, it’s making sure people have a good time. There’s also potential for saying losing BUCS matches as well actually.

I’m the person who makes jokes out of the smallest things, bring some unreal chat to every social (or at least I tell myself that), and somehow ends up doing something that I spend the next morning tell everyone it didn’t happen. I don’t mind standing out or making a fool of myself, which I feel is basically a requirement for this role.

As I mentioned earlier about my BUCS record I can’t promise sporting excellence or anything really close to that but I can promise enthusiasm, persistence and laughter every week.

I genuinely think me being social sec along with Alex and Akos, will ensure that every night is one to attend and not forget. The next one being better than the last, and we’ll create incredible memories, which may or may not be something to tell the grandkids. Furthermore, I’ll make sure no one feels left out at the socials or in the holy land of chief, pushing for more tickets to be awarded to us, the biggest society.

3rd biggest society in the uk? Rubbish, I want to make us the biggest. Wednesdays WILL be the most fun, exciting and intense night of the week, with every week bringing something different to the table

Speech on the day written

I’m Akos and I’m running for social sec. Apart from the fact I’m a massive gimp, you should vote for me because of my undeniable(buzzword) dedication and irrefragable(buzzword) passion for tennis socials, convincingly(buzzword) displayed when I was on 1HP as I almost died and bled out from a tennis social (check middle photos of the poster).

I aim to make socials SO much better than this year (no more fridge to fridge disasters) with fresh social ideas such as pub golf, chopathons and many more. I also will enforce a family meeting at least once every two weeks next year to ensure family trees are more solidified and freshers feel welcomed and integrated as soon as possible.

I will continue the policy that whatever the freshers do next year I will do myself to ensure nothing is too harsh. Seeing as I give some unreal chat (and then get punished accordingly) entertainment wise you have my word there will never be a dull moment next year.

Light-heartedness, fun and enjoyable moments are what will be ensured for both girls and boys as I aim to construct the socials in a way which ensures intergender integration is a focus (mandatory both genders in a group trick or treat for example).

Alongside Louis and Alex we can ensure more mischief tickets get assigned to tennis (as we are MASSIVE) and no codes get leaked (unlike certain social secs this year). As well as this we are all responsible people and will make sure every social is well planned to ensure people don’t just leave after mischief codes are released.

So if you don’t mind having a social sec with a shit backhand you should vote for me (alongside Louis and Alex).

By voting me as one of your social secretaries, you’d be helping to keep our Wednesday nights as chaotic, fun and memorable as they already are, whether you’ve played tennis your entire life or just joined the society for the socials!
As Leed’s largest sports society, with over 1000 members, it’s only right that our socials are just as big as the society itself. From eating bugs and drinking from a bin, my 100% attendance to our socials (and chief) reflects my commitment to this society and I’d love to have a role that encourages our current and new members to do the same!
As a fashion student, I’m a firm believer that every great social starts with a questionable outfit choice. I’m someone who fully commits to a theme (possibly a little bit too much) so let the pics on my poster be the expectation for 27! As for socials, the bigger the better, taking inspo from our favs such as the district social and the house parties, expect my year to include larger venues, more joint socials and sacrificing my future house (sorry flatmates...).
Of course, the night doesn’t end after the social. I’ll make sure we keep the strong Wednesday tradition going with big turnouts at popworld and plenty of mischief tickets so the night can properly continue. With a society as big as ours there’s no reason, we shouldn’t be one of the biggest groups out every week!
Most importantly, I want to make sure socials are inclusive, well organised, and genuinely fun so people are keen to come back week after week! So, if you want bigger socials, good vibes and a reason to look forward to Wednesdays, vote Lucinda!

Hi, I am alex and i’m running for social sec. I am applying for this role because I believe I am very organised but most importantly know how to have a good time which I think are two very important characteristics to be good at this position.

I’ve always been really passionate about tennis and that’s why I joined this society and i’m so glad I did because I have met some of the best people. I love playing in bucs matches on a wednesday and going straight to socials which I never remember and get completely humiliated at. I can’t chop or do shots but that is something I promise to get better at before making silly freshers do it next year.

My commitment to socials is very strong only missing one social this year so far. I promise to keep that consistency up next year.

I feel like i’ve really gotten to know how these socials work and which socials work out the best. Tho ensures everyone feel included and a part of the social so I will put a lot of effort into making sure each social is one that everyone feels a part of and has an unforgettable time.
