Hello hello everyone!! I’m Megan (she/her) and I’m in my second year studying International History and Politics (or just IHP to not sound quite so stuck up!).

I’ve always loved doing art in my spare time, I find it gives you the chance to let you take your academic cap off and just enjoy channelling however you’re feeling into something creative. I want to be able to make sure that the arts society at Leeds gives everyone the opportunity to do that - who knows we need it especially as all the deadlines start piling up.

As your Events Secretary I’d make sure to keep delivering the events you’ve come to love, listen to any feedback you had on improving the running of these and any new suggestions for new events, and work with the rest of the committee to give you all the best experience possible. In particular, I think it would be great for the society as a whole to raise the profile of the weekly life drawings - I know a lot of friends at uni I’ve spoken to are keen to try these.

Hello, my name is Alex Insall and I am in my second year of studying Economics and History. I love Art Scoiety because I have always enjoyed creativity and it allows me to do that alongside my degree. I have been to the majority of life drawing sessions and other workshops throughout my time at University, so you have probably seen me around. I have really enjoyed taking part, and would love to be part of organising even more of these for you.
I also create a lot with polymer clay, and would love to use some of the knowledge that I have with that to run a session making jewellery or keyrings or anything else that you may be interested in.
If I am elected I hope to run a number of fun and enjoyable workshops based upon your suggestions so they fit with what you all would like to do. Thank you for reading xx
