I'm Gabriel, and have been a member of LUU Barbell Club since 2020!

Since joining, I've held committee positions as the Powerlifting Captain and Secretary, which is my current role at LUU Barbell Club.

In addition to this, I have been competing in powerlifting since 2019 and have competed at over 15 competitions and have achieved national podium finishes.

I am also a Level 2 British Powerlifting endorsed coach, a trained first aider, and a regional British Powerlifting referee.

This experience allows me to ensure that LUU Barbell Club is a community that can suit members at every level - from people who have never touched a bar before, all the way up to national and international level lifters.

By casting your vote for me for Secretary, you will be ensuring the society runs smoothly next year. More importantly, however, is that I will make sure the society continues to remain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community for anyone who joins. As a member of the core committee, I will make sure Barbell Club continues to progress and that everyone feels welcomed, included, and supported to achieve whatever they want to within our society.

So in summary, the combination of my experience within the sport of powerlifting, and within LUU Barbell Club, positions me very well for the role of club Secretary, where I will ensure everyone in the club feels supported, welcomed, and has a great experience during the time they are a member.
