Candidate Statement for General Interest Representative:

I am thrilled to apply for the position of General Interest Representative for the Activities Exec Elections 2023/24. As a first-year BSc eco and finance student, I bring a fresh perspective, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to enhancing the university experience for all students.
If elected, I will diligently represent the interests and concerns of the general student body. I understand the diverse needs and aspirations of our student community and will work tirelessly to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.
As a General Interest Representative, I will actively engage with students from different backgrounds, disciplines, and interests. I will be a reliable and approachable point of contact, open to listening to their suggestions, feedback, and ideas for improving the university experience.
Furthermore, I am passionate about fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community. I will actively support and promote a diverse range of activities and events that cater to the varied interests of our students. By collaborating with student societies and organizations, I will strive to create an engaging and enriching university experience for all.
Additionally, I recognize the importance of effective communication and transparency. I will provide regular updates to the student body, ensuring they are informed about relevant decisions and initiatives taken by the Activities Exec. I will actively seek feedback and input from students to ensure their opinions are valued and considered in decision-making processes.

I am eager to contribute to the enhancement of the university experience for all students and to foster a vibrant and inclusive campus environment.

Hey! I’m Louis, a 3rd year robotics student and Founder and President of the Warhammer Society. I have grown the society from a small group of friends to a large community of over 40 like-minded individuals. I feel this gives me a great skillset and new perspective in the smooth operation of societies in LUU.



I’ve had a real passion for general interest societies ever since I came to Leeds and now, I want to try and give back for all the great memories and friends I've made through the societies I've been part of. I’d love to make a real difference in LUU with my goals for this year including:



• Creating a larger presence for all General Interest societies within the wider LUU community.

• Increasing communication and intersociety relations to aid in fun collaborations.

• Allowing people to use general interest societies to not only peruse hobbies but to generate brand new friendships and make our societies a massively positive change in people’s lives.



I want to become an understanding and friendly first point of contact for every member in every society to make sure everyone’s voice is heard in the University community.
