Having just found out about my masters, I would like to nominate myself for Recruitment Secretary for the 2023/24 season.

I think I'm a fairly known quantity, so I'm not going to list all my personality traits and explain why it makes me a suitable candidate. But, I have been involved in recruiting players throughout my entire time with the club which is relevant (in both the Recruitment secretary role which I held in 2021, and of course as President this year).

The primary issue I would look to address is retaining players that attended the give it a go session. We had over 50 people attend that session (thanks to Matty's all time performance at the freshers fair) , but barely 10 new paying members which is an issue. Particularly due to the financial strain the club was under this year.

The narrative that this is an easy and unimportant role (partly started by me, whoops!) is wrong. After next season, much of this years team will have graduated. We could be put in a difficult position, potentially on our return to the prem, if we don't recruit well this year which makes this arguably the most important position when looking to secure the long-term future of the club. I fully understand this and I am willing to give another year of my time to make sure that this is the case.

P.S I'm not organising the team curry next year, so I hope that some of you new committee members are ready to negotiate getting a full rice portion.

Hey everyone, I’d like to put myself forward for my second year as recruitment secretary. I feel you all know why I am a good fit for this role, but I’d like to highlight some of the work myself and the team were able to achieve this year. My design for the stall, as well as the rota, meant we were able to get so many people down to the GIAG that we ran out of kit to give out.
Furthermore, I put the team first by fighting the union after we weren’t given a stall for the January freshers fair, which allowed us to recruit extra players. I believe I can use this experience to continue to achieve the high turnout we had at our previous GIAG sessions this year.

However, our retention was extremely poor which I was disappointed about. But I do have ideas on how to fix this. Mainly these involve a greater involvement in the planning of GIAG’s as this is where we lost most people. As Weetwood caused us to lose a GIAG session, our whole schedule was shifted, which meant we went straight into training rather than easing new players into the team. By having a greater role within this planning process, it will allow these previous mistakes not to be repeated as I can work with the rest of the committee to ensure that the GIAG provides a smooth transition into the team, rather than what we had before.

Lastly, just like Robbie, I promise to find huge hunky men and seduce them to join, and this time make sure they stay on the team.

We all know that recruiting is about getting people engaged and I swear I’ll make sure people listen to me.
