Holaa! I’m Dana, from Peru, and I’m in my second year of Environment and Business. I’m applying for the Social Secretary position because I believe I can bring a lot to our community. My goal is to make sure that every student, especially newcomers, feels part of something bigger than just a club—a family. I know how tough it can be to be far from home, missing your people and feeling like no one really gets it. That’s why I want to create events and spaces that aren’t just fun but also comforting, where we can share our experiences and support each other.

On top of that, I’m super passionate about social media! Since I was a kid, I’ve always had a bit of a "YouTuber complex" that turned into a love for TikTok, which I think gives me an edge in managing our platforms creatively. I want to boost our society’s visibility and make sure our events capture the real essence of being Latin American: the energy, the loud laughter, and the love for doing everything “a lo grande”. From events with piñatas and salsa to karaoke nights with “canciones de señora dolida”, I want every event to feel like a little trip back home. I’m ready to take LATAMSOC to the next level and create unforgettable memories. So, vote for me, and I’ll see you all at Bella Gente!

Hi! My name is Rebecca, I’m a fourth year law with French law student from London. I joined LATAM because I’m half Venezuelan - I love the culture and I want to continue to stay connected to that side of me! I want to be social sec because I want to be part of the team that gets to share our culture with anyone who wants to get involved. My goal would be making LATAM accessible to all, not just if you’re Latino, but also to those who are interested in what we do: whether you like the culture, or you simply just want to find a new way to meet new people.

LATAM is a place where we can connect with others who share our heritage and passions. I’ve been in Leeds for three years so I’d like to think that I’m relatively well versed on where to have a good night out, and what it takes to run a successful social. I already have a few ideas brewing on what can be introduced to bring something new to the table! By sharing our traditions, music, and humour, we can foster a stronger sense of belonging and spread the joy of Latin American culture. So vote for me si quieres pasarlo bien este año!
