Hey I'm Abbey and I'm running for Publicity and Communications Officer. I've loved being a part of Backstage the past since I joined in 2023 with this past year being more active in the society than before. As a previous PM, I have attended committee meetings for show reviews so therefore, I am familiar with how everything is run and the protocols of being on committee.
As part of my ethos for Pubs and Comms, I want to work closely with the Events Officer to make sure that all socials are not only posted in the Facebook group chat but also on the Instagram so that everybody is aware and doesn't miss out on any of the fun socials next year.
I also want to continue the hard work that Liv has put into Pubs and Comms this past year too as she has done a great job boosting all social media, including TikTok. I'm always open to suggestions in way to improve the current way that Pubs and Comms is run and want to work with all of you to make next year as great as possible.

Hey Guys! I’m Ritshe, a first year studying English Language and Literature. I have enjoyed working with the backstage society throughout the entire year where I’ve taken up different roles in all the shows I’ve done, hopefully I’ve met some of you through the shows and socials. While trying out every department, I’ve firsthand seen how important clear communication and strong publicity are in making our productions successful. My experience in communications and event management throughout my senior year at high school includes leading publicity projects for large scale fundraisers and student events which has equipped me with skills to keep our society informed, engaged and thriving while also being connected with other societies. As the publicity and communications officer, I will ensure our social media pages continue to be creative and engaging showcasing the fun and incredible work we do while also working closely with the events officer to publicize our productions to grow our community. I’ve got some fun ideas of having frequent “Try Backstage” Open events, “Crew Spotlights” where our members can share their experience and journey, while being more visible on campus with more posters, digital ads and promo campaigns to make sure everyone knows how to join us. Joining backstage has been very exciting and has given me many learning opportunities that’s made my first year experience unforgettable. I have been dedicated and have given my best to all my roles. I would like to commit more of my time and efforts as the publicity and communications officer to be able to provide everyone with an amazing experience.
