Hi everyone- my name is Joe and I am running for Treasurer. I have been a part of BSS since my first year in 2022 (horrifying), but over the last year I have been on exchange at University of Queensland in Australia. I will return to the UK in June, and am incredibly excited to be back. Over my time with BSS I have been involved with countless shows in a range of roles, notably including PM experience with Devonshire Hall’s Tick Tick Boom (lol). As such I have a huge amount of experience in production and pre-production of our shows. Over the last year in Australia, I was Technical Director for the Vanguard Festival, ASM for the Avalon Theatre opening, and am currently LD for UQ Drama’s production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Furthermore, I was on committee in 2023/24 as the P&C Officer, and despite my newsletters being infrequent at best (sorry) I found it a hugely valuable learning experience. All of this is to say, I am uniquely qualified for this role, and am confident that as Treasurer I will do justice to the society and all of the fantastic people in it.

As Treasurer, I will be ensuring that our society’s finances stay rock solid. Think of me as the silent tech crew for our bank accounts—making sure everything runs smoothly so the only drama stays on stage.
