Hey Freestylers, I’m Lottie however most of you already know me from shouting at you to down your drinks on a Wednesday night haha!! However this year, I want to take on a new role in the committee...that being Vice President. Over the last year, I’ve had lots of responsibility over Wednesdays and I would like to expand this to other areas of committee life. I have also shown my leadership skills in helping lead hiphop this year, trying to hype everyone up for rehearsals as well as performances. A key aspect of the VP role is creating class schedules; I would love the possibility of bringing in new and old loved choreographers to encourage more faces into freestyle!! I want to continue to make Wednesday the day of the week you’re all looking forward to! Being able to plan classes as well as take a main role planning showcase, the chance to show off our talents even more, would make me so happy to do. This role would also allow me more opportunities to choreograph, which is something I adore doing. This is already shown through my work in certain areas of our Wildcard/Intercomp routine as well as our Fight Night/Varsity dance! This role requires organisation which I know I will be as I will be completing my law degree as well. I am close friends with many people in this society so the ability to work closely alongside the President and Comp Rep to help out on tasks is something that I can do with ease.
Mostly I would like this role to give back to the society which has given me so much! The friendships I have made in this society and the memories I’ve made will stay with me for life. I would love to spend this last year at Leeds, helping lead the society which has made my uni experience! I would not be the dancer or the person I am today without Freestyle. It has been an absolute pleasure being your social sec this year and I would be grateful to guide this sisterhood through another year of comps, fun and overall madness as your Vice President!
