Hey! I’m Adil Noushad, a first-year product design student on the journey toward my second year. I was born and raised in the city of Dubai, and if there’s one snack I can’t resist, it’s murukku. At the start of the year, I joined Mallu Soc, where I found an incredibly warm and friendly community—and I’ve built some amazing connections since. Looking ahead, my goal is to help grow our society, create even more meaningful experiences for future members, and make the most of this exciting university adventure.

I’m a people person with a soft spot for chaos, colours, and kathakals – and I want to become your committee member to turn all that energy into events you'll actually remember!

I believe our Malayalee Society should feel like a koottukari of good times, good food, and even better company – and I’m here to bring exactly that (with a few lemon-and-spoon races along the way 😉).

Hey everyone! I’m Leona Litto, a first-year Radiography student, and I’m thrilled to be running for Events Co-ordinator of Mallu Soc. Since joining uni, Mallu Soc has felt like a home away from home for me, a place where I’ve found amazing friendships and a real sense of community.

If chosen, I’m eager to introduce a whole lineup of exciting events – think cultural nights that showcase our traditions, potluck dinners where everyone brings a taste of home, fun dance workshops, and open mic nights to spotlight your hidden talents. I’d also love to organise interactive sessions like speed-friending or storytelling evenings that help us bond beyond small talk, and dressing up as Malayalam movie characters. I also want to bring more film nights to life, spotlighting the legendary stars of Malayalam cinema in a way that’s both nostalgic and exciting. And yes — expect a mandatory screening of at least one prime-era Nivin Pauly classic, because my obsession is real. If loving 2012–2015 Nivin is a crime, I’ll happily do the time.

I’m a big believer in collaboration, and I think working together with other South Indian societies – both on campus and across the UK – could take our events to a whole new level. Whether it’s hosting a massive Mallu boat party, inter-uni cultural festivals, or regional food fairs, these kinds of partnerships can turn fun ideas into unforgettable experiences. I’d also love to co-organise creative crossover events like a “Desi Bake-Off,” inter-society fashion shows, or sports tournaments. And of course, for a bit of playful chaos, a light-hearted “Take Me Out” night to help everyone break the ice, connect, and have a laugh. At the heart of it all, I believe in putting people first. I want to hear your ideas, make space for every voice, and plan events that genuinely reflect what you want. Let’s make every gathering feel meaningful, inclusive, and full of great memories.

Hi everyone! I’m Aditi, a first-year BA Business Management student, and I’m excited to be running for the position of Secretary of Mallu Soc. Ever since I joined university, I’ve loved being a part of Mallu Soc – it’s been a space where I’ve felt welcomed, connected, and met my best friends!! (that one move night!)
If elected, I want to bring in a mix of exciting and inclusive events – from chill indoor game nights with Jenga and card games to fun outdoor activities like bowling nights. I’d also love to organise more movie nights that celebrate our iconic Mallu actors and actresses, making them both nostalgic and lively experiences.
Collaboration is something I really value, and I believe that by working with other South Indian societies, we can host even bigger and better events – whether it’s a Desi-themed club night or something creative like a “Take Me Out – Desi Edition” dating show that’s all about having fun and breaking the ice.

Above all, I believe in a people-first approach. That means listening to your ideas, making sure every voice is heard, and planning events that genuinely reflect what our members want. I want every event to feel worthwhile, welcoming, and full of good vibes!!
