Gryphons, I am running for Charity Sec for the 2026/27 season. This was my 1st year at the club, and in my 2nd I want to play a greater role. We all know Tres has done an incredible job in this role all year, but I believe next year we can do even more.

Why you can trust me in this position:
- Firstly, I have been committed all year both on and off the field and I truly want the best for this team. Despite their being a lot of players in my position, I stayed dedicated to the team and put in the work at training, so you know I will give everything I have to this role.
- From working in a team as an operational assistant for a barrister’s chambers, I have learned strong communication and organisational skills, so I know I’ll be able to plan events and bring them to reality, as well as ensuring that they run smoothly.
- I have experience working with charities and have actively worked with Marie Curie before.
- Throughout the year I will be very open to suggestions and will send out polls to see what type of events you guys want and prefer, to hopefully maximise the team’s turnout and support.
- I do geography so I will have plenty of free time to come up with and plan ways that we can support great causes.

What I plan to bring and add to the role:
Early in the season especially, there are some great causes for the Gryphons to support. In October, there is Breast Cancer awareness month which this year we supported with the purchasing of pink armbands, which I plan to continue. However, I also plan to create an event, possibly with another society, to help further spread awareness and raise money. This could be in the form of a walk, similar to the Pink Ribbon Walks, or some other team event.

The following month is another key one, with Movember in support of men’s mental health. We all know how important of a month this is and I think as a team we can do even more. On top of the regular donation milestones, I think we could build upon the team Mount Everest run with possibly another team event during the month to greater raise awareness.

Finally, I propose planning more charity team events throughout the year in a similar style to the planned charity netball match.

I think I could have a really positive impact in this role, and help maximise the teams support for great charities and causes. I hope I can consider voting for me.
