My name is Phoebe Brazil, I am a first year Geography BSc student. Since coming to Leeds I have loved every minute of living in this amazing city, from Hyde Park to Old Red (RIP). As events sec, I would like to give others as great an experience as I’ve had this year, especially as a new set of people join in September. Events such as balls, socials and pub trips are some of the best ways to get to know your course mates and I have some great memories from this past year with my friends. While I do enjoy a good night out, I also think it’s important to have some wholesome and chilled events so there is something for everyone. The role of events sec isn’t just based in Leeds though. The opportunity the position offers to organize a trip for Geography students is also something I’m really interested in. Having spent a lot of time travelling both alone and in groups, I like to think I have picked up some skills on how to plan a great holiday and I’ve already scoped out some potential destinations on my travels. I am an outgoing and social person who loves meeting new people and the chance to connect more with my course mates through being on committee is something I would love.
