My ancestors come from the mountains of Nepal. Long before there were business schools or pitch decks, they earned their living through trade, crossing mountain passes, travelling to distant regions, building relationships with strangers. Over generations, that instinct for trade evolved into entrepreneurship, and somewhere along the way, it found its way to me.

Dinner table talks at home always revolved around business, what was working, what wasn't, and what the next move was. So at 18, I started my own. With £500, I co-founded Ama Kashi, a social enterprise that hit £10,000 in revenue within six months. I also interned at a financial firm in Kathmandu, working on real portfolios and investor analysis before I'd even sat a university exam.

Everything I do is building towards something, and a role like this is exactly the kind of experience that gets me there. That's what I'd bring to this position. Not just the technical side, but a genuine understanding of what it means to take money seriously to manage it

I’m Kian Espiritu, and I’m running to be your Treasurer. 📊I believe that a great Treasurer is someone who is organised, reliable, and always thinking of new ways to make events bigger and better for everyone. Through my previous experience in budgeting and tracking finances, including fundraising projects for Yorkshire cancer research and the £1250 Spark Business SIM competition, I have developed the skills to manage money carefully and responsibly. 💷✅ I also have lots of exciting and creative ideas for our Spring Ball ✨, and I want to make sure it is an unforgettable event that everyone can enjoy while staying within budget like this 2026. Hi everyone, my name is Georgie Rollin. I'm a second year Economics and Finance student running for the position of Treasurer for LUUTIS.

This year, I won the LUUTIS Virtual Fund Challenge alongside a talented team of analysts. Together we managed to deliver an annualised return of 62% (15.1% over 3.5 months). It was a great experience that has developed my ability to make decisions under pressure, think critically and manage money effectively. These are skills which ill bring directly into the role of Treasurer.

One of the main reasons that I'm standing for the role of Treasurer isn’t just about keeping things ticking over, it’s about making sure the society’s money is used properly, and that everything we do actually delivers value to our members.

I want to make sure LUUTIS is:

• Run well financially – clear budgets and no unnecessary spending
• Value focused – putting money into events and opportunities people actually benefit from
• Set up to grow –backing good ideas in a sustainable way

Hi guys, my name is Mykyta, and I am currently doing a placement year at the Department for Business and Trade in London as an economic analyst and will be coming back to Leeds in September as a third-year economics student. In my line of work, I frequently conduct labour market macro analysis for the government, lead team meetings, reach out to businesses and other government departments, coordinating cross departmental work synergy to make sure that my team stays updated.

I have a strong and growing professional network, cultivated through my government placement and beyond, which I am planning to leverage for the benefit of the society and its members. For the next year, me and my friend Nikodem (who is also running for a committee position) have a very grandiose Napoleonic plan which splits into 2 parts.

1st
We are planning on conducting invitational speaker events that bring genuinely compelling figures from finance, economics, and beyond for lectures/talks/workshops on a frequent basis, which are going to be open for our members, and others.

2nd
To make sure that the invaluable information shared by our speakers is documented, we are also planning on starting an interview YouTube channel where we would speak to the guests, ask them about their career journey, and questions proposed by any of you.

Additionally, prior to my placement, I served as a Treasurer of SlavSoc (2024–25), where my responsibilities included coordinating society's budget, contracts with our partners, leading society events in the president's absence, establishing and maintaining connections with Leeds Polish society, and other Slavic societies from Sheffield, Manchester and Nottingham, and finally helping with the organisation of the end-of-year rooftop party. I am still in good contact with the future presidents and members of these societies which could be leveraged for collaborative events, parties and useful cross communication.

Furthermore, I am eager to conduct CV/cover letter workshops and help students with internship/placement applications together with the future committee. Knowing how broken the job market is currently, it would be quite useful for our members to get tips and guidance from me and my friends that have managed to secure work positions.
