Hello MSF team!!

My name is Matilda, I am currently intercalating in a Masters in Global Health. It has been an incredible year stepping outside of clinical medicine and getting to grips with the broader systems, inequalities, and challenges that shape health outcomes around the world. I am so excited to be rejoining Leeds FoMSF and channelling that into organising events for such a fantastic cause this year. Studying global health has reinforced for me just how unequal access to healthcare remains across the world, and how essential awareness is. With the current state of ongoing conflict, climate-related displacement, and overstretched health systems, awareness-raising is invaluable. It keeps these issues on people's radar, supports advocacy, and helps sustain the attention and funding that organisations like MSF rely on. Leeds FoMSF have a real role to play in that, and I would love to help contribute to such meaningful work. Through my committee role within FoMSF in previous years, I understand the logistics and running of the society. Equally, I'm super excited to bring forward new insights and ideas I've learnt over the past year. So happy FoMSF has been able to continue this year against all odds - can't wait to be working with the dream team again!!

Hi Everyone!
I’m Kate and I’m currently intercalating, undertaking a Masters in Global Health. This year has really broadened my perspective on health issues around the world, particularly in regarding the impact of charitable medical interventions can have within different population demographics. I would love to work within the MSF committee next year as I am passionate about improving health across the globe. I feel I can bring innovative ideas to the team, particularly for fundraisers, as I have had successful experiences with medical initiatives, charities, research and volunteering over the past few years. I hope to bring valuable insights into certain aspects of global medicine that can make a meaningful difference to the MSF goals for the upcoming year. I am hard-working, organised, fun and committed to the cause that MSF aims to achieve. I loved attending MSF events last year, such as Beats without Borders, and would love the opportunity to get involved with many similar events in the upcoming year!
I would be so grateful for any support to join the committee for 2026/27.

Hi! My name is Umi, I’m a 4th year medical student running for general committee as part of leeds friends of MSF. Last year I was treasurer of the society - this is equipped me with the skills to be able to organise the myriad of events we put on! Including some of our big events such as ‘beats without borders’. I loved how the committee worked so collaboratively together and I hope to bring this back next year.

The work MSF do is so important and prevalent in medicine and society in general. I would love to be a part of a team who raises awareness for the incredible work that the charity do; I hope to bring new ideas to the society next year including global health talks and new fundraising ideas that everyone can enjoy!

Hi, I’m Noor — I’ve just finished my intercalation in MSc International Health and will be starting 4th year Medicine next year. I’m really passionate about Global Health, and I’d love the chance to be a part of the Leeds Friends of MSF committee for the upcoming year.

It would be such a privilege to support the amazing work MSF does by helping to raise awareness, organise events and fundraisers and get as many people involved as possible. I’ve loved attending the society’s events this year and am really keen to get more involved in making them happen!

I’ve also got plenty of experience from sitting on other committees and helping organise various events and fundraisers for other societies, so I’m confident I can help make next year a great one for the society.
