Hi, My name is Suwetha and I am a 2nd year med student! I am really excited at the opportunity to apply to be the MediTeddies Rep for the Teddy Bear Hospital next year.
I really enjoyed getting involved with TBH visits in the past and could see first hand the impact and happiness the children have after a session with us! Through MediTeddies I hope to be able to bring this joy to children who are in the wards in Leeds and surrounding areas as I can see how they will really benefit from this and I would like to help lead this project! Having worked with children both as part of the TBH and externally I really feel that I understand what children enjoy and how they are very eager to learn and I feel the MediTeddies can both be educational and enjoyable for the kids.
I feel that I can help to support the team and committee in general by helping out where I can to ensure that the projects run smoothly. I feel through my previous committee roles I have picked up important communication skills which can ensure that I coordinate with volunteers and wards. In addition to this, I would like to use my creative skills and improve them to create bears that are enjoyable for the children and also relevant.
I really hope that I get to work closely with the rest of the committee as MediTeddies Rep to help the TBH continue to do the great work that it is doing and hopefully bring some new ideas to the society for next year to help it grow, so please vote for me!
