Hey I'm Josh!

I have been a member of LSR since 2021, hosting Breakfast, Hometime, my own podcast LGBT Q&A and my own music show Pop Too

THE BME SHOW, THE LGBT+ SHOW, SAFE SPACE AND WOMEN'S HOUR are programmes for everyone, but on the terms of their presenters.

I think there's a huge untapped audience for them and I would work tirelessly to help presenters and producers reach their potential. To do this, I would:

I would love to continue what Sophie achieved this year with outside broadcasts. One of my favourite memories at the station is an OB at the Xmas market and if any of the Daytime teams want to, I'll be there to help with making it happen, working alongside Head of Live. LGBT+ show at Viaduct anyone?

I would organise bi-weekly socials, bringing all of the Daytime schedule together

I would work with Head of Online to help promote the shows, editing some of the best moments in clips to be shared and come up with some TikTok video ideas for Daytime

I am open minded about introducing new talk shows to the schedule if someone came to me with a pitch. I also think that the Daytime social media accounts should continue promoting owns shows broadcast 11am - 5pm, giving them shows a home!

Being Queer is who I am as a person

Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, people from working class backgrounds, Women, Queer people, and people with disabilities are more than just a history month.

We should be represented every day which is why Daytime is so essential, it can go to places that other media organisations can't reach

Hi there, my name is Sebastian Glasper and I am excited to nominate myself for the Daytime Editor position at LSR. As a first-year Media and Comms student LSR has been an incredible resource for me, helping me adjust to university life, meeting amazing people and I would love to be able to give back to that community in any way I can. I am confident I can contribute to the stations future and a friendly and entertaining place for Leeds students. Plus, I promise to bring a little humour to the table - after all, radio is all about entertaining!

This year I had the privilege of working on the Breakfast, Home time and News teams giving me valuable experience on the decks and behind the scenes. Also as a Winter Award Winner for Best of Breakfast, I would love to put these skills to use as Daytime Editor, both my passion for radio and my highly organised nature make me an excellent fit for a role which manages so many incredible shows.

One of my top priorities will be supporting the core shows, especially in growing our presence on social media. I believe shows such as BAME, Woman’s Hour, LGBTQ+ and Safe Space have provided so much this last year and as a regular listener, I would love to see the good work they do not only being showcased on air but also on Instagram and Facebook too. I would also like the help centralise some of this information on Daytimes own Instagram on a regular basis! This year I was a part of LSR’s News social media team and I have work experience in graphic design, with a general interest in online content which has given me the experience I need to achieve this goal.

Beyond the shows - I really want to get involved with the station's community by organising more socials that are open to everyone, not just Daytime. This could involve collaborating with other editors and looking at ways to keep the society as accessible as possible, I hope to host more non-alcoholic socials in the future!

Lastly, I believe supporting others is essential to success at LSR, whether it means mentoring new presenters, working on a new show or collaborating on a larger project I am committed to making LSR and Daytime the best it can be.
