My pole and aerial journey started at 15 years old, after I had a dream where I was teaching crazy pole tricks! By 17, my instructor saw something special in me and trained me to join her business. Soon, I was leading my own classes, witnessing countless nervous beginners fall in love with pole, just as I had. Sharing my passion with others brought me so much joy and made my love for pole even stronger.
Fast forward to starting uni in Leeds, and my first mission was finding a place to keep up my pole training - if there wasn’t already a pole society I was going to start one! Cue me eagerly stalking VF's Instagram! Nearly a year in, and I'm in love with the society and the incredible, inclusive community it nurtures.
So, when I heard about joining the committee, it was a no-brainier! Lead Class Rep seems a perfect fit for me as I’m hoping my past experience as an instructor allows me feel at home in this role. My most important aim as Lead Class Rep would be ensuring VF classes are always an encouraging, fun and positive place to be!

Hi! I’m Emily, I’m currently in first year studying English language and linguistics. I’ve been doing pole and aerial since I was about 13 and have loved every minute of it! My fascination with it quickly grew into every part of my life and I completed my aerial hoop teaching qualification when I was 16 securing my instructor job at Urban Circus. I think I’d be perfect for lead class rep because I have plenty of experience with running circus classes smoothly, safely and excitingly. As an instructor myself I understand the demands of the job and will be able to communicate and assist the wonderful VF team effectively.
My time at VF so far has been a highlight of university life and I hope to encourage more people to participate in our fabulous sport and grow this lovely community further!
