Hi everyone, my name is Liv, and I would love to be your negotiating secretary for next year. Law society has been a major factor in my 1st year as a fresher, but a more specific part of the society I took a real interest in was the negotiating society. The current negotiating secretary sparked my interest to compete and develop my own negotiation skills. Next year I would hope to create this! I would love to create this negotiating community making sure that individuals feel a sense of belonging, while being able to develop their skills through workshops and competitions. Moreover, I would want to make sure the competitions where inclusive by including some non-commercial scenarios into the mix, allowing this hobby to cater to everyone’s interests. Having competed in the competition myself I feel equipped for this role, sharing my skills and knowledge. As a bubbly, approachable and out- going individual I believe I would be a great candidate for running the negotiation society but also being a great addition to the law society as a whole. Hi everyone! My name is Jonathan Diaz Zerlin and I am running to become your Negotiating Secretary for the next academic year.

After participating last year in multiple competitions, the seed of negotiation started growing in me. I found myself to love the practice and undertook multiple steps to develop myself in the area. I now believe that taking this next step is the natural course of events.
This is why I am now looking to share everything I have learned and gathered to propel the negotiating branch even further.

Negotiation has been a vital driver for my University experience. It has granted me with skills and abilities incredibly useful in my daily life, but also in my work-place. I could never be more grateful for taking decision to join the competition.

I believe that by electing me as your next Negotiating Secretary, your own experience of University but also of the LawSoc will be changed. I want to create a real sense of negotiating community, of belonging, but even more of ambition.

In the past, I have held two working positions where negotiating was essential. When living back in Geneva, Switzerland, I had to communicate and negotiate directly with banks so our customers could transfer huge amounts of funds with an extremely preferential rate.
Working hand in hand with banks has enhanced my knowledge and appreciation for negotiation even more. It has given me strong grounds to help all of you develop your practical skills in the real world.

When arriving here in Leeds, I took a position of customer service representative in a Pawn Shop. There, I had the obligation to negotiate product prices with our customers and find the best price both for them and our company. It has giving me the potential to negotiate with people from every background and expectations.

If you elect me to be your next Negotiating Secretary, I will assure that your experience will be enhanced. I can promise that taking part of competitions will be one of the greatest encounters of your life. I will assure that from day one you will be able to gather competences that will follow you for the rest of your life.

I will also work in great proximity with our partners & sponsors to provide you the best opportunities aiming to magnify your legal negotiating expertise.

I plan to develop the Negotiating Branch of the LawSoc greatly and build a strong presence in the role.

Most importantly and to finalise, I will be thrilled to serve all of you as your Negotiating Secretary. My journey will only be a success if the seed of negotiation starts thriving in all of you as it did in me.
