Position involves:
● Register the new Committee with the Union.
● Organise a weekly meetings for the committee, create the agenda and take minutes in the meeting.
● Create a timetable for the committee for Fresher’s Week. Activities include:
- Helping out law school staff
- Book Sale preparation
- Having a sign up stall in the common room and at the Fresher’s Fair
● Organise First Year Rep elections, including manifesto submission, interviews and counting votes.
● Liaise with all Committee members to create the LawSoc calendar.
● Carry out Risk Assessments for all the Society’s activities and other administrative activities.
● Liaise with the Development Co-Ordinator at the Union.
● Ensure all promotional posters, flyer and tickets have ‘LawSoc Promotes Responsible Drinking’ on them if there will be alcohol at the event.
● Ensure there is a designated driver at each alcoholic social event.
● Provide pastoral care to the society members in a form you see fit e.g. answering queries.
● Being a member of the Executive, contributing to major decision-making.
● Participating in disciplinary proceedings when required.
● Organise the Annual LawSoc Elections in accordance with the Constitution.
● Being an account signatory at the Cash Office.
● Contributing to the acquisition of sponsorship
