Hi, my name is Alexandria or X, and I am the co-founder of Thackray Sage Morris side! I've been dancing for eleven years, and wanted to keep going at university, so when I met Cat, the other founder, we decided to start a border side here in Leeds. Morris is an excellent as exercise, a way to connect with local culture and history, and a social activity, and I'm very excited to welcome anyone and everyone into this world. As President, I would like to focus on outreach and sharing traditional British culture with international students, or British folks who've never heard of it before! Thackray is a welcoming environment which accepts everyone regardless of ability, as long as you're enthusiastic! Let's get dancing!

Hi! I'm Alex, and for the past 4 years folk music has been my obsession! I play Northumbrian Smallpipes and Scottish Smallpipes, and I'm a regular at Folksoc's sessions at the Packhorse. As president of Folksoc I'd like focus on emphasising the teaching & learning aspect of sessions, as this is so important for people unfamiliar with traditional music, getting to grips with their instrument, or just new to learning tunes by ear. I'd also like to bring new tunes (and songs) to the session, from all corners of England, Scotland, Ireland, and further afield. Of course I'll also prioritise organising events such as ceilidhs, open mic nights, and more, in order to promote folk music and song, and ensure everyone gets the most out of the society.
