General Responsibilities

• Attend as many training sessions as possible

- at least two committee members must be present at each session.

• Attend as many competitions as possible.

• Attend as many socials as possible.

• Assist the Social Secretary in hosting socials.

• Promote tour.

• Attend the Freshers' Fair and promote the society to gain more members.

• Regularly check emails from LUU and Leeds Sport and check for opportunities to develop the club.

• Be a member of the British University Gymnastics Clubs Facebook group.

• Attend regular meetings with the rest of the committee and help others with their roles if needed.

• Be willing to complete the UGC judging course and judge at competitions if needed.


Training Secretary

As training secretary it will be your job to ensure that training runs smoothly and is an enjoyable, productive experience for everyone that attends training whether they're a complete beginner or an experienced gymnast. You will work closely with the competition secretary and with the Leeds gymnastics coaches when it comes to ensuring everyone is prepared and ready for competitions. You should have a good understanding of the sport. Some specific job roes include:

• Organising transport to and from training i.e. getting everyone into cars and marking their names down on a spreadsheet and booking

Uber(s) if needed.

• Assisting competitors with start value sheets, ensuring they're meeting the required number of moves and any compositional requirements.

• Ensuring routines are observed and signed off on start value sheets by coaches.

• Complete the UGC judging course (basic gymnastics judging and exam) to be able to judge at UGC competitions.

• Speaking to members at training to make sure they're enjoying themselves.

• Liaising with coaches to structure training sessions in a manner that is suitable and enjoyable for members.

• Organising competitions alongside the coaches and competition secretary.

• Providing advice and support for members both inside and out of training.

• Helping fellow committee members in anything they may need assistance with.

• Making sure everyone has an enjoyable time with the best society in Leeds.
