Hello, my name is Lutale Metruth Kaselampao (Truthy), and I am applying for the role of secretary. I am applying for this role because I have enjoyed being part of the society this past year, and I believe there’s so much work we can do to impact our university using the field of haematology. This is a topic that I relate to on a personal level from having family diagnosed with blood cancer to having friends navigating life with sickle cell. I have a deep conviction to be a representative and an advocate for everything that encompasses this specialty.

Alongside my experience as secretary for a HIV/AIDS society during my first degree, I also took on the role of 1st Year rep for Haemsoc this past year. Henceforth, I believe I have the necessary skill set required to complete this role effectively.

I have enjoyed hosting events that have brought better understanding around haematological conditions and I believe the revision sessions we have hosted have been beneficial to our peers. I look forward to hosting more events in this capacity and to champion a great cause.
