Hello everyone! I’m Lenah Ahmed and I’m a medical student here at Leeds. As one of the founders of Leeds Sudanese Society, I would love nothing more than to be involved in the successful continuation and growth of our society. We want to share our beautiful culture and traditions with everyone so they can experience and be a part of what it means to be Sudanese. Being from Sudan is a huge part of my identity and makes me who I am,so being able to voice this through the running of incredible events is something I’m really motivated to do! We had a huge success in running popular events in the year since we established and as events officer I will ensure another year full of great events that showcase the amazing Sudanese culture! I will also take events ideas and suggestions that people make and ensure that these are heard and implemented (after all, this is a democracy even if the actual country isn’t!) So vote for me as your events officer and I promise you won’t regret it :)

Hey guys, As an event officer, my primary responsibility will be organizing various events throughout the year. I will plan to arrange a special event to welcome our new Sudanese students at University of Leeds. The aim is to create a warm and welcoming environment that helps them feel at home and allows them to connect with fellow students from their major. After that, I will plan for many events throughout the year, designed with different ideas and themes, ensuring a fresh and exciting experience each time. Additionally, I will work closely with Sudanese societies from other universities in the UK and organize joint events to foster a strong bond among all Sudanese students who study in the UK.
I understand the importance of providing opportunities for students to explore new places and broaden their horizons. So, within our budgetary constraints, I will make every effort to organize events and activities outside of Leeds. When planning events, I will also be mindful of scheduling them when students are free and not burdened by exams. So yeah, these are my general ideas in a nutshell.
