GP is a part of medicine which I find very interesting, the work in the community and reaching people whom are house bound and who would usually miss out on healthcare.

I am in the process of completing my elective in a GP in sheffield, each day is so different and I hope in this society I am able to further improve my knowledge and aid others also!

Hi I'm Thelaxini and I'd love to be your Publicity Co-Ordinator for GPsoc!

Having been a Publicity Rep this year, I've gained insight into the what the role involves, what could be improved and how the team can be better supported.

As a Rep, I took initiative and helped carry the publicity workload by creating posts, promoting events and helping run them, such as the Year 3 MOSCE. I've seen how essential clear communication, planning and creativity are in this role, and I'm confident in my ability to deliver this as your Publicity Co-Ordinator.

I'm confident using Canva, Instagram and other platforms and I'd aim to bring more consistency, stronger engagement and frequent communication, both within the publicity team and across the society. I'd work closely with the team to ensure all content is creative, timely and reflective of our aims for GPsoc.

Some ideas I'd like to implement include: advertising and filming turnout at our events, interactive posts, such as MCQs or clinical facts, collaborations with other societies, and responding actively to feedback, to improve engagement.

Alongside my experience on the committee, I've developed a growing interest in General Practice throughout the years. I value the community focus, patient continuity and variety within GP, and I'm excited to help promote this through the society.

Having already experienced being part of the publicity team this year, I know firsthand what works and where we can do better, and I'd love to lead the team next year.

Hi, I’m Akshaya and I’d love to be your publicity coordinator for GP Soc. I’m in 3rd year, and over the last 2 years built a real interest for general practice and exploring this further would mean a lot to me, especially as a part of the society!

I’m experienced with Canva, Instagram and TikTok, and would love to keep giving GPsoc a consistent online presence on TikTok and Instagram advertising events properly and effectively, making sure the content reaches a wide range of people and making the society well known with good social media activity. TikTok algorithm and trends are familiar to me and I would love to mix my passion for social media with General Practice. I’m always active online so will take extra care to reply to all messages and emails while keeping myself organised. I’m good at working within a team whether this be in the larger committee and advertising events or working on tasks within the publicity team.

Hi I’m Thea, I’m going into my 4th year of medicine and I would love to be considered for the role of Publicity Coordinator on this year’s GP Soc committee!

From 1st year, I have always loved my GP placements. They’ve given me the opportunity to get to know patients and hear their stories, whether that be about something they’ve been struggling with for years or a recent change to their health. These placements have sparked my interest in a career in general practice and working within the community.

Last year, I was Secretary for LUU Ballet Society and part of my role was to run the social media accounts, so I know what is needed to run an up-to-date and engaging social media page. I have become familiar with range of social media platforms through this role and I am confident using post software like Canva. In the role of Publicity Coordinator, I would work alongside the Publicity Team to create engaging Instagram and Facebook pages that advertises all of the Society's upcoming events and what we’ve been up to!
