Hi! I am Aadya, a 3rd year medical student and I’m excited to apply for this role as I see it as an opportunity to be a voice for my peers and spark curiosity about the General Practice, a speciality that’s often under appreciated but is the backbone of the NHS.

GPs are the bridge connecting communities and healthcare. They don’t just treat diseases; they know their patients, families and the context in which illness happens. That kind of continuity and holistic care is something I’ve come to value more with each patient encounter.

I want to bring that same sense of connection to the GP society- making sure students feel informed, included and inspired. I believe I am suited to the role of Middle Years Rep, as I am approachable, responsive and proactive and will keep everyone updated on exciting talks, conferences and other opportunities. Plus, I’ll always be here to listen, answer questions, and raise any concerns on your behalf.

I aim to share opportunities that feel relevant- not just to those already considering GP, but to those still exploring their options.

Hi, my name’s Rohan and I’m a 3rd year medical student with an interest in General Practice, which has developed through the primary care placements I’ve had over the past couple of years. I’ve found it to be a rewarding area due to the clinical variety and the way it links into so many other areas of medicine. For example, during my time at the University Health Centre, I saw GPs incorporating dermatology and MSK subspecialties into their daily practice, which really highlighted how flexible and diverse a career in GP can be.

One of the things I really value about primary care is the sense of community — both within the profession and in societies like this one. I see this role as a great opportunity to help build on that, by making the society a welcoming space to meet others with similar interests, share ideas, and explore the many sides of GP together.

As Middle Years Rep, I’d aim to be approachable and supportive, representing the views and concerns of my peers, and helping to organise events that are genuinely interesting and relevant. I’d love the chance to get more involved and contribute to what the society does this year.

Hi all, I’m Trivena , a 4th year who’s super keen for GP, something that really grew after a fantastic placement I had in 3rd year where I got involved in clinics, admin, and properly connected with patients. I loved how GP covers so many aspects of medicine, tying in many specialties into one.

As this years middle years rep. I’d love to support 3rd years by keeping them in the loop with exciting events, talks, and opportunities that GP Soc has to offer! I’d be looking forward to organising OSCE sessions and informing everyone of events that strengthen portfolios for any specialty, as I believe 3rd year is a great time to start exploring your interests! Having completed 3rd year, I know how overwhelming it can feel navigating where you’d like to go in medicine and I’d be your friendly, reliable point of contact for anyone curious about GP or just needing a bit of support or direction throughout the year!

I’m always active on emails and messages, super organised, and genuinely keen to make GP feel exciting, accessible, and relevant to everyone.

I know how busy this stage of Medicine can be and I’d love to help keep everyone connected and supported.After spending time on GP placement,I’ve seen how valuable strong communication is and I’d bring that same approach to this role by being reliable and always happy to answer questions or share updates. I’m super organised (I genuinely love a good to do list!) and am happy to chase down answers,keep track of key dates and make sure workshops and seminars don’t fall through the cracks.
