Hi everyone! I’m Liv and I’m a first year, studying Business Management with Marketing. LSR was the very first society I joined and I cannot explain how much I have loved every second of it since. This past year, I have had a ball doing Breakfast, Hometime and starting my own show with my best friend, as well as dressing far too convincingly as a carrot on the Otley Run… //

I am running for Programme Controller and would love the opportunity to do the following things with the role next year:

Revamp and refresh the schedule wall – it is one of the first things you notice when coming into the LSR office and I would love to use my creative ~flare~ to brighten it up a bit, filling in the gaps and making it more eye-catching. In addition to this, I would like to create an online version of it so that listeners can access the entire schedule, rather than just publishing separate schedules on separate programme pages. //

More special episodes – I would like to encourage more shows to do one-off episodes during the times when the studio is not in use. Whether it is for the purposes of streaming during a particular event or two shows doing a special crossover episode, I think it would be great to see more of this. //

Use of social media – as mentioned above, I would like to raise more awareness about LSR presents and promote them over social media as well as continuing with posting member/show of the week. I would also like to add an in-office feature for the member/show of the week to be displayed on, so that other members see this when they come in to do their show; hopefully increasing the (already very strong) sense of support and community in LSR. //

Training sessions – I recognise that there are some people who do their own shows but are not part of any of the core shows. Therefore, whilst the majority of the training offered in the Breakfast and Hometime sessions is applicable to other shows, I think it would be beneficial to offer a separate training session for just own shows with additional advice and tips on producing these. //

And of course, above all, I would aim to produce the best possible schedule for each semester so that we can smash another year of broadcasting!! //

• I have been on a plane before – so, I know how to stay calm when it comes to all things ‘on air’

• I am queen of scheduling my life down to the minute, sometimes including accounting for what time I will brush my teeth – safe to say the role would be in experienced hands

• LSR has literally been the highlight of my year and I would love to be on committee to have even more involvement with it next year!

What up! I am Madina, a 2nd year Media and Comm student (i love my choice of a degree... i do). This year I was a weekend editor for LSR and it was an incredible experience. I met so many funny, talented and smart people and the next year I would love to keep meeting more of you and reading your amazing applications for own shows. So as you may have guessed I am running to be the next Tom Davy, I mean "programme controller"! I promise to make sure you get the best time for your show, and that everyone gets a chance to have their own show on air, and keep up the good work Tom Davy did this year. :)
